I truly wish that there were cancer clubs for women in neighborhood. A place where women could gather for comfort. Maybe watch movies together, while they get their treatments or just to rest. Somewhere that is homey and comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere. Somewhere they can just be. No problems, no worries, just peace. Hospitals can be the most horrible places.
There are some places like that, but the problem is if you don't know about them you can't go. Also, many folks are too private or embarrased or have no way to get to them. This is why the computer can be such a wonderful friend. A person can be out among friends, but never leave the house. My Mom talks to several ladies over the internet ands has made friens who all support each other. My mom had breast cancer. Unfortunately, she passed away. One issue that I try to emphasize is to get your friends/family to respond quickly to their doctors. My mom was extremely hesitant to begin treatment. She put everything and everyone before her treatment. I know she did this, because she was afraid. She was also extremely private and did not inform us of all that she was going through. We had to piece all the information together. She depended 100% on her doctor. That was a big mistake. Get second and third opinions. Do it quickly. Reach out to your friends and family. Everyone needs support.
I am so sorry sorry to hear about your Mom. Yes, putting all of your trust into one doctors hands is just not good because even if he/she is a wonderful doctor and person - he/she is just human and can make mistakes. I habe a connective tissue disorder and most of the doctors have no idea what it is beyond the basic defintion - so I have to be my OWN advocate and I have made several medical folks upset because I knew more than they did about my condition. I tell them that they can't be expected to know it ALL, but be humble enough to admit it and work WITH me. Take care friend. Yes, there is so much chemicals in everything it seems. I sure don't understand what is wrong with doctors? I wonder if some of them even care. I know some do, but there seems to be a lot of "it'll go away" or "here's something for the pain till you can find someone that cares." This place has really quieted down though. Not many posts in the groups anymore.Well, I hope your mom is still doing better. Hopefully, the tumors will continue to get smaller. My sister-in-law hasn't had the cancer come back so far. They are just waiting to see if her hip will heal or if they need to go and operate.I guess it's just seems to always be hope and pray for the best. Pray one day there will be a cure. That would be so wonderful.
My Mom has been doing pretty well so far. Between her treatments and the fact that I replaced her perfumes/soaps/lip balms... with my all natural handmade ones - she has been slowly improving. I hope you SIL heals up soon and only gets good news from now on. Doctors are trained to concentrate on medicine/surgery to cover over or remove symptoms. They are not taught to work WITH the body or WITH any natural methods so most of them look at you like you're crazy when you tell them you want to try the natural approach first - whether it is for high blood pressure, headaches, behavior modification... . I is a fight to get any sort of cooperation from the medical/psychological community. The motto seems to be "Drug 'em up, move 'em out, next..." Even IF drugs work, they are usually a band aid and do not address the underlying issues that caused the problems to begin with. Sometimes, yes there needs to be a med taken because the behavior or condition is so out of hand and - so far - no natural method has been found that can help enough to make a difference.
My Mom has had a reduction in some of her tumors and she is still staying away from most of the store bought junk which I think is really helping her to fight this.
Wow, I had lots of typos - sorry : ) Organically Yours, Diana
OK, just thought I'd share a story about my sister-in-law. She had lymphoma, but didn't know it. Ever since 1998 she had been having back and hip pain. Last year she finally got a second opinion, because most of the doctors she saw said it was this or that, but they didn't care enough to really check her out. When the pain got so bad she couldn't take it, she found out what was really wrong. Her lymphoma had weakened her hip bone and fractured it. After almost 10 years, she finally got the treatment she needed and the cancer is gone (or in remission I guess is what they say). I'm only sharing this as there is hope. We thought she wouldn't be around much longer, but she did so well and is still healing today. There is hope and if you know something is wrong, don't let the doctor say otherwise. Make sure they do thorough tests and that they take the time to care.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us ! My Mom beat it the first time and is fighting it hard this time too. The doctors missed the cancer for over a year at least this time. The sad part is thar she went in for all of her checkups on time everytime so it shoild have been caught early. Our biggest fear is that the cancer in her spine may paralyse her. So far it gives her a lot of pain, but she is taking pain meds and is now doing a little better. Organically Yours, Diana
