Group Description: This group is for those who still have fond memories of the 80s and would like to share them. What do you miss from the era of big hair bands and legwarmers?
It was a more simple time -- and I miss it! I was in college (at OSU) in the early 80's. Yes, our shoulder pads were big, but our hair was even BIGGGER!
Loved the 80's!! We danced....had our first two children, bought our first house, my hair was past my shoulders, I excercised everyday, loved playing pac man!!!
I guess you got different TV programmes too, being in Newfoundland. My faves for the 80s were the A-Team and an American comedy show called simply "Soap" It made fun of all those other TV soaps. They had alien abductions, the tennis coach had relationships with everyone and so many twists and turns in the plot it made Dallas look very boring!
Welcome, EddyG. Great memories! Sadly, I still have some shoulder pads! Maybe I'm retro? lol And I have a Rubik's cube (knockoff) on my coffee table right now. Found it in a storage box a little while ago and decided to give it a go again. Never could figure it out. Maybe someday. :-)
Ahh the era of many big pop stars and even bigger shoulder pads. When a mobile phone was a rarity and was the size of a house brick. And rubik brought out his cube! (darn cube! still got one; still can't do it) We did not have internet but we kids (OK teenagers) kept in contact with a CB radio "Come in rubber duck!"
